Poll: Starbucks v. Peets - The Coffee War?
There was an interesting article in the local newspaper today, The Sacramento Bee, offering insights and opinions on the increasing battle for coffee supremacy in the local area. You can view the article here.
In viewing the comments to the article, including my own, it’s clear that true coffee connoisseur’s appreciate the Peets difference when it comes to a quality cup of coffee. What do you think?

I like Peet’s, but I have also enjoyed the coffee from BocaJava.com. I would recommend the single origin beans. Don’t bother with the flavored stuff. Their biggest selling point is that they roast the coffee just before they ship it to you. I think Peet’s also roasts in much smaller batches than Starbucks, therefore, their roasts are much fresher at the time of purchase. I think this is the main reason why Peet’s is better than Starbucks.
Jon - I agree re: the single origin beans; much greater consistency there. I will give BocaJava a shot (pun intended).
